FAQ

  • Who is the Recovery Room for?

The Recovery Room is for a wide variety of ages and fitness levels. People who are high level athletes can see benefits as much as someone who casually exercises to stay in shape.

Infrared and cold plunge are not to be used during pregnancy or while undergoing chemotherapy.

If you have any concerns about using the Recovery Room, please consult your doctor or licensed medical professional to see if it is right for you.

  • How long should I stay in the Infrared Sauna/Cold Plunge?

The time you spend is up to you, but if you’re newer to cold exposure therapy, we recommend starting with 30-60 seconds or 5-10 controlled breaths. As your tolerance builds up, you can stay in for 3-10 minutes.

For infrared sauna, you can stay in as long as you are comfortable. Typically 10-30 minutes in enough for most people so long as you feel okay and are hydrated.

  • Do I need an appointment?

Yes, appointments are required. Appointments are 45 minutes each in a private room.

  • Can I purchase Infrared Sauna or Cold Plunge separately?

Unfortunately not, as they are both in the private recovery room and included in the package.

  • Which should I use first during my session?

You can use either first, there are benefits to both ways!

  • How often can/should I use the Recovery Room?

Both are safe to use every day and have benefits for frequent exposure.

  • Are there any age restrictions?

As we age, our bodies get less efficient at maintaining core temperature. For this reason, it is advised to not use cold plunge and to limit infrared sauna use to 15 minutes for elderly populations.

We also advise against people under the age of 18 using the Recovery Room.

  • Where are you located?

We are located inside of Custom Fit at 323 Octavia Street., San Francisco, CA. There are two separate studios on site so please meet in studio 1 (there is a large white sign on the door.)

  • How much does it cost?

It varies depending on how many sessions you purchase.

    1 session = $69

    5 sessions = $300 (60/session)

    10 sessions = $550 (55/session)

    20 sessions = $1000 (50/session)
